Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Scentelle (“Scentelle,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit thescentelle.com, place an order, create an account, join our newsletter, or contact us. By using our website, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The short version: We collect only what we need to fulfill your order and support you. We never sell your personal information, and we do not share your email address or phone number with third parties for their marketing.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, email address, and phone number.
- Shipping and billing addresses — so we can deliver your order and verify payment.
- Order details — the products, sizes, and quantities you order, and your order history.
- Messages — anything you send through our contact form, by text, phone, or email, including photos you send to support a claim.
- Newsletter — your email address when you subscribe.
- Account details — if you create or use a customer account.
Information collected automatically
- Your IP address, browser type, device, and operating system.
- Pages you view, links you click, the site you came from, and the date and time of your visit.

Information from payment providers
We receive limited payment details from our payment providers, such as whether a payment succeeded and, for cards, the card type and last four digits. We do not receive your full card number.
How we use your information
- Process, ship, and deliver your orders.
- Verify orders and prevent fraud, including confirming the billing address on first orders.
- Communicate with you about your order, claims, and returns.
- Respond to your questions and provide customer support.
- Send newsletters and promotions if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Improve our website, products, and shopping experience.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our policies, including responding to chargeback disputes.
Cookies & analytics
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them in two ways:
- Essential cookies keep your cart, checkout, and account working.
- Analytics cookies help us understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited so we can improve the site. We use Google Analytics for this.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features, such as your cart and checkout, may stop working. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
Payment information
We do not store your full card number or security code on our servers. Payments are processed by our payment providers, who handle your payment details under their own privacy policies and industry security standards (PCI-DSS).
How long we keep your information
After your first order, your information is securely stored in our database so we can serve you faster on future orders and keep accurate order records. We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill orders, provide support, resolve disputes, and meet tax, accounting, and legal requirements. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your information, subject to legal record-keeping requirements.
- Opt out of marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Non-discrimination — we will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
California residents
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you the rights listed above. In the past 12 months, we have not sold or shared personal information as those terms are defined by California law.
